Texas – Indivisible Texas Endorses State Representative Gina Hinojosa for the 46th Texas Governor.
Gina Hinojosa has spent her career serving Texas communities as a civil rights and labor attorney, an Austin ISD school board member and president, and a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 49. Her roots are in the Rio Grande Valley and her years of public service give her a perspective that encompasses communities across our state.
Indivisible Texas particularly values Gina’s longstanding commitment to Texas public schools. As an Austin ISD trustee, she successfully organized parents and was able to prevent the closure of her son’s elementary school, assisted in balancing AISD’s budget and advocated for teacher pay increases. Ultimately, Gina served as Board President.
As a member of the Texas House of Representatives District 49, she focused heavily on public education funding, teacher pay and opposing school vouchers. Her legislative record reflects a commitment to public education, working families, civil rights, and accountable government.
Representative Hinojosa has committed to being a governor who listens to communities, respects the dignity of every Texan, invests in our public schools, implements a plan for affordable health care, and puts people and families ahead of powerful special interests and mega donors. She brings the experience, determination, intelligence and deep Texas connections to bring that commitment to fruition.
The membership of Indivisible Texas strongly endorses this smart, ethical, no-nonsense woman as the next Texas Governor.
